Specimens must be pre-treated prior to analysis Add 6N HCL to a random urine specimen – pH must be between 1.5-5.0. Once acidified, allow specimen to stand at least 1 Hr prior  to analysis Keep refrigerated prior to analysis Stability: Room Temperature 6 Hours, Refrigerated 2 Days, Frozen 6 Months
