Collection Requirements
Collection Tube:
- Inpatients: Light Green Top (Lithium Heparin) Tube
- Outpatients: Red Top SST or Yellow Top SST Tube
Minimum Volume: 1.0 mL serum or plasma
Collection Instructions:
1. Centrifuge the specimen and separate the serum or plasma from cellular components within 2 hours of collection.
2. For trough levels, collect the specimen immediately before the next scheduled dose.
3. If toxicity is suspected, the specimen may be collected at any time.

Submission Tube: Original collection tube
Minimum Volume: 1.0 mL serum or plasma
Specimen Stability: Room Temperature 5 days, Refrigerated 5 days, Frozen 6 months.
