Collection Requirements

Collection Container/Tube: SST Tube 
Specimen Volume: 1.0 mL Serum protect from light                                                                                Minimum Volume: 0.3 mL Serum protect from light
 
Collection Instructions: It is preferred that the specimen is shipped the day it is drawn.

Please wrap the specimen in foil or transfer specimens to amber tubes if they are not to be shipped the same day. Specimens must be protected from direct light.
1. Gently invert 5x (DO NOT SHAKE!).
2. Let blood clot for 30 minutes at room temperature.
3. Centrifuge for 10 minutes.
4. Store and transport in a amber transport tube refrigerated.
