Collection Requirements
Collection Tube:
- Inpatients: Light Green Top (Lithium Heparin) Tube
- Outpatients: Red Top SST or Yellow Top SST Tube
Minimum Volume: 1.0 mL serum or plasma
Collection Instructions: Centrifuge the specimen and separate the serum or plasma from cellular components within 2 hours of collection.
Shipping and Handling Instructions
Submission Tube: Original collection tube
Minimum Volume: 1.0 mL serum or plasma
Specimen Stability: Room Temperature 72 hours, Refrigerated 1 week, Frozen not recommended
