Collection Requirements

Collect 2 swabs: one Culture Swab and one Anaerobic Specimen Collector swab (gray top, glass) Anaerobic cultures will not be done on areas normally colonized with anaerobes, such as vagina or mouth. Specimens collected on swabs are least desirable. Collect fluids, aspirates, or tissues when possible.
