For outpatients draw mustard tube, for inpatients draw light green lithium heparin tube.

Additional Information

Should not be drawn earlier than 4hrs after ingestion. If time of ingestion is unknown, 2 or more samples taken at 2 3-hr intervals may be used to estimate acetaminophen half-life and assess toxicity.
